1. The following items are the original tape reels containing the recordings described.  Both reels have, until recently, been in the possession of the man who made the recordings, Jerry Tucker, a former Black radio personality with stations in Chattanooga, TN, and Louisville, KY.  The first item is a radio interview that Mr. Tucker recorded with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on 12/30/1960; he recorded the second item later that evening as Dr. King delivered a speech in Chattanooga.  For the next 40+ years, the tape reels were stored in a shoebox in Mr. Tucker's home.  The audio quality of both tapes is excellent.

    b.  Original tape of 34-minute speech given by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in Chattanooga, TN - "The Negro and the American Dream" - 12/30/1960
