Policies Governing Artifacts Auctions 1. Some artifacts for sale are owned by Nanny Jack & co. Others are not, and are offered for sale under an exclusive agency agreement between Nanny Jack & Co. and the items' owners. 2. No fixed, minimum or reserve price is set for an artifact offered for sale. 3. All bids must be made using the Bid Form provided on the "Marketplace" web page. Bids in any other format will not be considered. 4. All bids must be in United States dollars (USD). 5. All bids are binding on bidders for 45 days from the date of transmission to Nanny Jack & Co. 6. There is no set period during which an item is offered for sale. Items will remain for sale until, in the best judgment of Nanny Jack & Co. and the item's seller (if different), the best offers are likely to have been received. At that time, a closing date will be set and posted beside the item's display. The closing date will be at least one week from the date of its posting. Once a closing date has been posted, no bids will be considered that are received after 5:00 pm EST on the closing date. 7. The seller will choose the winning bid from the bids received as of the closing date. All sellers reserve the right to consider factors other than financial considerations in choosing the winning bid, including but not limited to offer viability, type of bidder, intended use of item, etc. 8. Winning bidders will be notified by email. Nanny Jack & Co. must receive payment in full, including shipping and handling charges, no later than 5:00 pm on the tenth business day after the date of notification of the winner. If payment has not been received by that date, seller has the right to notify another bidder that (s)he is the winning bidder. Once that second bidder has been notified that (s)he is the winning bidder, (s)he will have all rights and obligations of the winning bidder. 9. Winning bidders who fail to make timely payment will be liable to seller for the full amount of their bid, less any amount ultimately received by seller for the item, plus a Non-Performance Penalty of $100. 10. Payment may be made by PayPal or certified or cashier's check. Payment instructions will be included in the notification to winning bidders. Return to African American Artifacts |
