This postcard was written by Haley to his secretary as he was flying to Los Angeles.  It reads:  "We're in the landing process now.  SF's down there.  And thought just came to me: it's a good thing I'm not a pilot! Suppose I missed a sign at 35,000 feet?  God knows where one would discover himself lost at 700 mph!  Later, will drop a note reporting if Tony's 'yummy' - Alex"

The "Tony" referred to is Tony Curtis.  Haley's secretary had mentioned that she thought Curtis was "yummy," and Haley jokingly had said he would find out if the description really fit the actor.

In the secretary's words:  "The meaning of that postcard is this:  I attended  business school in Syracuse, NY and Alex was going to be in the city on a particular day.  Since I took the train home every Friday for the weekend, Alex offered to drive me instead.  Well, he was a great talker, you know, and our exit came and went and he was still talking.  We went three exits beyond where we should have gotten off making a 45 minute drive an hour and a half.  Thus, the postcard.  He had a great sense of humor."
