History Worth Knowing: Helen Augusta Gibson Holland was an important African American female undertaker.
After her husband George died, she stepped up to the plate and handled the business for over 30 years and funeralized over 50,000 people. She also mentored #HerbertNutter of #NutterFuneralHome.
The building at the corner of #DruidHillAvenue & #WilsonStreet was demolished in Historic Old West Baltimore, and I was able to dig in the rubble and preserve countless documents that were buried with the brick, wood, metal, etc.
Let us LIFT up this ancestor!!!!!!!
